My Facebook account has been blocked temporarily. How long will my account stay blocked? Will my Facebook account be unblocked after a few days?
This block by Facebook is temporary and will last anywhere from a few hours to 24 hours to a few days. Your account was probably blocked because you didn’t follow the Facebook Community Standards.
Locked vs. Blocked
Your account can be locked if Facebook has detected suspicious activity on your account – like a strange login or if you tried to login too many times. This is different than being blocked. You are able to recover your account and Facebook will help you with this. Just walk through the steps they give you when you try to login.
Some Things to Try if Your Account is Blocked…
- Make sure there’s not a Facebook outage going on. Also consider it might be a glitch with Facebook. Try turning off your computer or phone and then turn it on again and try. See if that helps.
- Also, if you’re on a phone, try using a computer or if you’re on a computer, try using Facebook on your phone. Some people have had success trying this.
- See if you can reset your password.
If you’re still having problems, then fill out this form at Facebook to help get some assistance with your account:

Go through the steps that Facebook gives you and you’ll get your account re-enabled and back in use again.
Make Sure You Don’t Get Blocked Again
If you’re using too many devices, logging in from too many places (without logging out) or are using proxy servers to get access (like around the company firewall), then all of that can start to look suspicious to Facebook. This can get your account locked or blocked, so be careful out there and keep this in mind.
